  2. CAUGHT BY TRAFFIC II/AUTORAJ

     kitchen/cinema/laboratory/lounge/bar/library

Caught by Traffic is a series of collaborative, process driven installations that seeks to reimagine or reconfigure the city from the perspective of the driver of public transport vehicles. The form of public transport that is focused on is that which exists in between formal and informal modes of operation.

Autoraj is the Bangalore edition of this project that first begun in Durban South Africa with The Big Boss. Autoraj explores the city through the position of autorickshaw driver. The project uses photographs, video, stickers, collage, maps and objects to create an installation that works as a kind of visceral map of the city which will be installed at the exhibition space at 1,Shanthiroad Bangalore. The space will operate as a project room for the duration of the show and will be open daily until the 24th of August from 1:00pm - 4:00pm. You are welcome to come for refreshments and to add to the visual mapping in progress.

There will be a grand finale on Saturday the 20th of August from 19:00 onwards where among other things you can expect film, food and music.

Autoraj would not have been possible without the help of the following people:

Autoraju, Abdul Rehman, Bakar Shariff, Copshiva, Gururaj Hadadi, Suresh Jataram, Raghu Prasad, Shruti Chamaria, Ajmal PM, Deepak DL, N Sunder, Achal Prabhala, Ricardo Gallego and Mona.
